Hansal Mehta took to X on Monday night to take a dig at OTT platforms for not supporting Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light, which won the Grand-Prix earlier this year at Cannes Film Festival.

Hansal re-shared a tweet of The New Yorker, which contained a line from a piece written about the film by Justin Chang that read, “Payal Kapadia’s new drama, “All We Imagine as Light, which was a major prize-winner at the Cannes Film Festival, is ‘one of the year’s great movies, in any form, style, or language’.”

Hansal wrote as he shared this, “And from what I hear a film that no OTT platform is buying. The harsh reality of making independent films in India. This is no country for the spectacular All We Imagine As Light. Hope I am proved wrong.”

The film stars Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha and Chhaya Kadam in pivotal roles. Actor-producer Rana Daggubati is distributing the film in India. It is set to be released in theatres on November 22.
